The Weekly Roundup - 12/18/22

Happy holidays and welcome to our end of the year blog! We're exceptionally thankful to all of you, and if you've been reading along all year, we appreciate your support! This week we'll cover some new arrivals from around the shop, and give everyone a look at our holiday hours. Let's do it!

Taking care of housekeeping first, let's talk about when you can expect us to be here this holiday. Every day, we'll be here for normal business except for 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, and 1/1. Our hours there are as follows.

  • Christmas Eve: 10 - 2
  • Christmas Day: Closed
  • New Year's Eve: 10 - 4
  • New Years Day: Closed

New shirts! Just in time for the holiday season, our new shirts have arrived in a variety of different colors, sizes, and designs. Best of all, they're available to buy straight from the website, so you can skip any snowy treks made just to get one. They're super comfy!

A highly requested amp from Mesa Boogie has made an appearance! The Badlander 25 combos and heads are here! These amps are versatile, easy to transport, feature classic Mesa design, and are now easier to record than ever with the inclusion of Boogie's CabCloneIR Direct Interface on the back of each amp. We've got the 50-Watt versions as well, if you're in the mood for something beefy.

Just in from the Fender Custom Shop are a selection of rad 1960s inspired Jazz and Precision basses. These things obviously come spec'd out with '60s Fender flare like Rosewood fingerboards and classic "U" and "C" neck profiles, but also feature different levels of Relic over gorgeous finishes. It's hard to pick a favorite.

If you're coming by to work on your bass rig, why not check out some pedals? We've got newly released pedals by Boss including the DS-1w, FZ-1w, and the rebirth of the Slicer, the SL-2. For the more bass focused, though, you can't go wrong with Darkglass Electronics' new DFZ2 Dual Fuzz Engine. It's two different flavors of fuzz controlled simply by one big stacked knob. For further control, you can even open the back up and change the blend and filter levels. The whole package is completed by a sleek mini enclosure, meaning it'll fit on any board you need it on.

While you're filling out your rhythm section, don't forget to stop upstairs and check out the drum department. We have a to'n of really cool kits right now including this stellar Black Galaxy wrapped three piece from Ludwig USA. The quality shell pack includes a 20x16" kick, 12x9" tom, and 14x14" floor tom. Plus, it just looks damn cool!

Last but not least, the Arturia MiniFreak is here at last! This is the follow synth to their acclaimed Microfreak which features some welcome additions including a standard key bed, more added effects, more onboard control, presets, and a software version exclusively for MiniFreak hardware owners, the MiniFreak V. This is one of the best synths of the year under $1000, and we're stoked to have them.

That wraps it up for this week, and for 2022 blogs! We hope to see you over the next coming weeks and we wish you all a wonderful holiday season. For those of you that can't make it in, we'll see ya next year!

Thanks for hanging, especially during the holidays.

-Buddy
