The Grand Canyon greatly expands on the capabilities of its predecessor. While it keeps the three-second delay time, the Grand Canyon offers 12 effect types (as opposed to the Canyon's 10): Echo, Mod, Multi, Reverse, DMM (which is fashioned after the classic Deluxe Memory Man tone), Tape, Reverb, Pitch, Shim, Sample/Hold, Drum, and Doubler.
The Drum effect is brand new to the Grand Canyon and emulates the magnetic drum echo of the Benson Echorec. The Doubler makes use of the new pedal's stereo outputs to make a left to right stereo spread or add heft to a mono signal. Meanwhile, the Looper function—which was limited to 62 seconds on the Canyon—now has 16 minutes of total recording time, allowing for unlimited overdubs and sonic experimentation.
